Language of Materials

The hymn book is in German; there is a note on one of the pages,"Die Bilder dieses Gesangbuchs sind von Rudolf Schafer" (The pictures in this hymn book are by Rudolf Schafer).

Irmgard Lotze's name is inside the book, along with a passage of scripture and a hymn, "Jesus spricht: Wer die Wahrheit tut, der fommt an das Licht, das seine Werfe offenbar werden; denn sie sind in Gott getan. John 3, 21. Ach ja, las uns Christen werden, Christen, die ein Licht der Welt, Christen, die ein Galz der Erden, wie's dem Vater wohlgefallt."

Translation: Jesus says: Whoever does the truth comes to the light, which reveals his intentions; for they are done in God. John 3:21 Ah yes, let us become Christians, Christians, who are the light of the world, Christians, who are the light of the earth, as is pleasing to the Father.

There is a note on Irmgard's confrimation: "Zur konfirmation am 21. 3. 39" (For confirmation on March 21, 1939). There is also note that says, "Von deinem Seelsforger, Rubus Dr. Lempp" (From your pastor, Rubus Dr. Lempp).
