Abstract
There is a description on the back of the photo: "Lunar Module Pilot Russell L. Schweickart, Commander James A. McDivitt and Command Module Pilot David R. Scott, prime crew of Apollo 9, are pictured in front of both the simulator console and, at extreme left rear, the spacecraft simulator used to train astronauts for flights to the moon. Apollo 9, an earth orbital mission, from March 3, 1969 to March 13, 1969, included the first tests of a manned Lunar Module in space, a successful LM active rendezvous and 46 minutes of extra vehicular activity by Lunar Module Pilot Schweickart. The success of the Apollo 9 mission, which totaled 241 hours and 1 minute in space, signaled the green light for the Apollo 10, the last step before the mission to touch down on the lunar surface."
