Document Type: Technical Research Report Authority: Government Military (authoritative reference) Document Number: Air Service Information Circular (Aviation) Vol. V, No. 402 (dated January 15, 1923), based on "Miscellaneous Reports Nos. 89, 90, 91 and 94 respectively."

Scope: Prepared by the Engineering Division, Air Service, McCook Field in June, 1922.

Contents: Contains short but detailed summary information on developments in the field of heavier-than-air military airplanes, armament, engines and support equipment between 1918 and 1922 and the "present status of Army Air Service airplanes." It was originally prepared for "presentation in lecture form" to U.S. Army AIr Service Reserve Officers by the Engineering Division.

Parts include: Part I - Airplanes Part II - Armament Part III - Engines Part IV - Equipment.

Format: single-sided photocopy of a loose-leaf booklet, 8.5”x11” (35 single-sided photocopied pages including cover). Includes black & white photographs, charts and drawings.

Note 1: Document is a photocopy made in early 2000s, which is stamped "Seattle Public Library, Technology, May 5 1923" on pgs 2 & 34. Note 2: Donor made pencil annotations on cover and yellow highlights on pages 5-7 20-21. Note 3: the following pages are partially unreadable due to poor photocopying: 1, 7-9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28-29 (almost unreadable), 33.
